Official opinions

The official UK Government report into Scientology exposed deceptive recruitment, strict internal discipline and smear campaigns against opponents.

"[Scientology] is corrupt, sinister and dangerous" said Mr. Justice Latey in the High Court.

"[Scientology] alienates members of families from each other and attributes squalid and disgraceful motives to all who oppose it; its authoritarian principles and practices are a potential menace to the personality and well-being of those so deluded as to become its followers." - Kenneth Robinson, Minister for Health, July 1968, quoted in "Religion, Inc." by Stewart Lamont.

Protesting against Scientology

There have been many street-protests at Scientology shops around the UK since 1995. Jens Tingleff maintains a definitive list of UK protests.

2008 has brought a mighty new wave of activism against the cult.

Wikipedia

I am currently writing about Scientology on Wikipedia rather than this site. I recommend the articles on Scientology in the United Kingdom, Disconnection, Fair Game, Scientology and abortion, Scientology controversies, Operation Freakout, Operation Snow White, Sec checks and Xenu as introductions to the topic. Bear in mind that WikiPedia pages are subject to change and vandalism.
