SPEAKING of inaccuracy - and close students of today's letters page will notice it raises its Gorgon face yet again - I was discussing the matter with an old friend who dropped in for lunch only yesterday, and we agreed that general standards are shocking. I therefore feel compelled to report myself to TAIM in Hollywood for the third time in three days; this time, it's for the wildly incorrect report here that Ann Widdecombe intended to spend Easter on a "shagfest" Club 18-50 jaunt to Corfu. Far from it, the old girl was visiting nicks - with such energy, indeed, that she clocked up her 50th prison visit yesterday. Miss Widdecombe - who is believed to be modelled on the Lady Whiteadder character played by Miriam Margoyles in Blackadder - notched up the half-century at Lancaster Fields young offenders' institution. We remove our headwear, and throw it aloft.
