E-meter is still under patent

An article in Connected on July 29 about the "E-meter" (an instrument used as a guide in Scientology spiritual counselling) stated that the patent for the E-Meter had expired.
This was true in relation to the older version of the E-Meter. However, the E-Meter has been upgraded many times over the years and the current version is fully patented.
As an additional point, the E-Meter does not function due to sweat. It is a highly sensitive and precise instrument, the value of which in spiritual counselling is based on the discovery that body resistance is influenced by spiritual and mental factors.
